Reunion is a great time to include Boston College in your estate plans, as your gift will immediately count toward your class’s Reunion fundraising goals. This is an incredible way to increase your class giving totals and your own support of the University.Ìý
As we celebrate the past with your Reunion, theseÌýplanned gifts play a vital role in securing Ï㽶Ðã’s future, ensuring tomorrow’s students receive a transformative experience grounded in the Jesuit, Catholic tradition.
Gift Credit
When making a planned gift to Ï㽶Ðã by signing the (nonbinding) Shaw Society form, you have an opportunity to make a best faith estimate of the amount of your gift and, in most cases, receive credit for that amount this fiscal year.
If you are leaving a percentage of your estate or an account (like an IRA), the easiest way to determine the estimate is to use today’s value. If you leave Ï㽶Ðã as a remainder beneficiary of a donor advised fund, then you can also use today’s value of the fund. Please consult with the Ï㽶Ðã Gift Planning Office for further details and to determine whether your gift will count.
It is always good practice to review your plans approximately every five years, as life circumstances change. A planned gift made to Ï㽶Ðã in your Reunion year will serve as a meaningful tribute to your classmates and enhance your collective impact at the Heights. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a larger impact in a milestone year.
Planned gifts made from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, will contribute to your class’s Reunion giving.
Please let us know! If you provide a best faith estimate of your gift and fill out our Shaw Society form, we can count your gift toward your class’s Reunion giving.
